On April 4th, Mrs. Hruby's 5th grade students felt like their heads were in the clouds when they visited Truax Field Air Force Base! Escorted by Lieutenant Colonel Keith Krejchik, students experienced the gear pilots wear (each trying on a helmet), explored the cockpit of a jet, and learned about jet mechanics (how a jet flies, slows, and shoots). Students also learned about some of Wisconsin's most important pilots and got to see the newest Air Force Firetruck! What an experience!
