Our local Knights of Columbus council #3099 holds an annual district-wide Spelling and Math Competition for students in 5th thru 8th grades. For the 5th grade competition this year, students from Tower Rock, Merrimac, Grand Avenue and St. Aloysius elementary schools competed. We are proud to report that St. Aloysius students took 1st and 2nd place in both the Spelling and Math competitions! Out of 81 students, Clara Galvez took 1st place and Laura Kruchten took 2nd place in Spelling, while Vos Betley and Connor Kendall took 1st and 2nd place respectively in Math beating out 77 other students! 1st place winners will move on to compete in the Diocesan Competition in April and winners in the Diocese will then move on to compete in a State Competion in Green Bay. Great job, students! Let's all cheer for Clara and Vos!
